The Grand Highlander is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive in the form of the LE, XLE, and Limited trims while the all-wheel drive adds a Platinum trim. The Grand Highlander Hybrid front-wheel drive only has one trim; the XLE, while the all-wheel drive model has the LE, XLE, Nightshade Edition, Limited, Max Limited and Max Platinum trims. The Grand Highlander is powered by a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 265 horsepower mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Highlander Hybrid is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder that produces 186 horsepower the addition of the electric motor ups that number to 245 horsepower. The Grand Highlander is loaded with standard features a rear spoiler, power liftgate, roof rails, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, automatic dual-zone climate control, an HD satellite radio, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, voice activated navigation, adaptive cruise control, a mobile hotspot, wireless device connectivity and charging, 7 USB ports, and push button start.
